The History of Artificial Intelligence
Alan Turing was one of the most famous mathematicians in history. He invented a kind of mechanical mathematical machine to solve a problem. In 1950 he wrote an article called Computing Machinery and Intelligence. It set out what we regard as one of the key tests for AI, or 'Turing test' But his life ended tragically far too short when he committed suicide after having been prosecuted and convicted of gross indecency.
