The Legacy of the Renquist Court's New Federalism
Karen Drexler: I think one of the big changes over this time period is you're seeing companies basically figure out how to make a profit off of the people who were on Medicaid. But the other thing that's going on is that you're seeing this sort of new federalism revolution in the Supreme Court, she says. The legacy of that is more power for state governments as sites of authority in the federal state, kind of welfare state we have from the U.S., writes Drexler.
