If they ask for ID, no, I don't give it if I don't want to. Bad things happen at the cashier's cage. You can always go back later and cash out. If there's any kind of heat, you never want to go to the cage because that's where they get the best photographs of you. And then if the cops come, you do have to give your ID. Just don't give them the ID.
