Complications of Spinal Anesthesia
Epidural anesthesia is also often used for knee and hip arthroplasty. It's similar to spinal anesthesia except an indwelling catheter is placed. Complications of epidural anesthesia include post-operative hypotension as well as motor impairment. Local anesthesia includes a lumbar plexus slash psoas compartment nerve block, femoral nerve block, sciatic nerve block, operator nerve block, popliteal nerve block, and asafinus nerve block.
