The US Department of Commerce estimates the figure at about 85% are manufactured in China. Yiwu is often called Santa's real workshop, home to 600 factories that almost exclusively churn out Christmas decorations. While a real tree takes eight to 10 years to fully mature and go to market, a fake tree can actually be produced in as little as a few minutes at full steam.
