The Afghan adjustment act is a statute that would provide a more permanent path to residency for Afghans who fled to the United States. Most of them are here currently under a parole authority, although in effect they can stay longer through some other kind of discretionary tools. If we're serious about taking responsibility for actions we've undertaken Afghanistan I think it has to start stage one by helping those Afghans who helped us and those who are suffering from the consequences of the situation falling apart.
