The Politics of Nimbyism
There's definitely a strain of nimbyism that is people who are simply looking out for their own interests. And they're sitting in wealthy suburban neighborhoods and they'll come out to raise hell when a developer proposes a low-income housing project or a homeless shelter. People in low-income neighborhoods who are concerned about new development, bringing displacement and high rents. That issue doesn't necessarily break down along the liberal conservative lines, right? I think it's really complicated, right?
