Is China Taking a Lead in AI?

I think what we are seeing right now is actually the culmination of a couple of decades of several trends. One is availability of cheaper and more powerful hardware, which makes data collection, storage and analysis and little cheap. Another is the use of internet and web, especially due to mobile platforms, smartphones and so on,. And the third is the proliferation of new digital services that are being launched, which again bring more users and more data. So I think these trends have combined together and now we have hit the knee in the curve in terms of tremendous increase in the amount ofdigital data that are being generated every day.
