Some estates are thought to have been owned by dead inca who were mummified. And unlike egyptian mummies that were placed into the pyramids, inca mummies were brought out to join in the celebrations. They were paraded and they were given food and drink, and they were seen as living entities. Even commoners could bring their mummies out and and bring them back.
