Why Do Workers Vote Against Their Own Interests?
Why do poor and working class people vote for republicans who are going to strip away the social safety net? Clearly, they're voting against their own interests. If you look ata poles of american population, there isn't too much a disaggravation by income in the poles. Even black and brown care abouttat this is true all the time. They know it. There's no fooling them about that. So think of that as your interest, your perception of your immediate surroundings and of your immediate circumstances. To do something about that now does require going beyond your immediate experience and thinking about strategies.
