Is the Trojan War Real?

Why do you think people care so much about whether the trojan war was real? Why is this one of the great mysteries the people still debate to day? I think it's partly the most famous story that's come out of greece and rome. And i think the mystery is part of the appeal. In a sense, it would be disappointing if we discovered o there's absolutely no chance that there was the war. Or, yes, there absolutely was.
