Passports of the Dead

The dead are no more exempt from carrying the appropriate paperwork with them than the living. If they're found without them, their souls are detained at that check point and can proceed no further lest they be allowed to roam around and cause undue trouble. The text of the document was as follows: "Do not hinder the transport of their body to the deceased's home town or the spirit that hovers neart still"
