Introduction
Tova Friedman was born Tola Grossman in Poland in 1938. She and her parents were transported first to a labor camp and then to Auschwitz, the Nazis most notorious industrialized death camp. As a little girl Tola knew nothing but Nazi persecution and violence. Now well into her 80s she's chosen to tell her extraordinary story in a memoir and a series of social media posts. The Holocaust left indelible scars defined her in her formative years.
