President Trump has set an 8 p.m. ET deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or else the U.S. will begin targeting the nation's power plants and bridges. It would be a major escalation with critics saying targeting those sites amounts to 'war crimes.' President Trump wrote on Truth Social, warning, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”
