When the French introduced a centrally-loined 1470, also imposing restrictions on the length of the point, shoes quickly became more regularly told. In China with the upturned toe, pop in the Ming dynasty 1368 to 1644 AD that we find an echo of medieval European enthusiasm for oddly-toured footwear. Even before 1480, the crackle style was no more of course though. An usual decoration of a shoe's toe has never been entirely restricted to points as the famous pompom of the Greek suruchi in illustrates.
