The Academy of Athens
Academy was a center for intense and high level research where students could also come to be taught as well. It nurtured extremely famous people, the most famous being Aristotle,. He was at the academy for 20 years from 367 until Plato's death in 347. Mathematical studies were quite central to what the academy was doing. The school also produced political troubleshooters who tried to rewrite city constitutions or depose rulers.
