The NFT Market Is Already Centralized on the Sales Side
i wrote about the idea that while much of the rhetoric around crypto currencies has to do with decentralization as a guiding ethos, the nft sector is already extremely centralized. According to data from the block chin analytics company dap radar, the vast majority of all non funsable token sales volume is concentrated on two platforms: open sea and looks rare. On friday evening, uga labs, the company behind the board ape yacht club nft collection, announced it had acquired brands, copyright in the art and other ip rights for two nft projects by larva labs. The acquisition makes sense because Larva labs createdcrypto punks back in two thousand and 17 essentially as an experiment
