Monetary Policy Decisions Are Never Separated From Politics
Raterise could not have come at a worse time for the coalition. Scott morrison said this morning, when asked about the decision, that this was not about politics. The government needed to provide stimulus just in the same way as the reserve bank needs to provide stimulus. Low interest rates are not a marker of economic success and should be sait at the level that is best going to address inflation or full employment.
