Only 4 to 6 percent of neurosurgeons are women. The number of women in residencies has skyrocketed compared to what it was but it's still not the same. For women, we really do have to plan about family, when to have kids, about when to do all of these things. A little bit more so than men do. These issues exist. I think that it is important that women know that you shouldn't feel like you're alone"
