D.C. Home Rule and Statehood for Washington
I think we would have wanted to let the senators make their votes and we recognize that it was a tough vote. Unfortunately, we live with the indignity of limited home rule in the district of Columbia. I'm not a supporter of what the D.C. Council did with the bill. We're tax paying Americans. And until we become a state,we live with this process. That's exactly what needs to change.
