The Great Fire of the Imperial Palace in the Book of Ming
The imperial palace in the forbidden city of relzis was set alight by gunpowder. The fire lasted through the night, and the residential palaces were completely destroyed. It would take more than one million ounces of silver to cover the cost of reconstruction. By this point, the junga emperor had come to the conclusion that basically, courtly protocols were wholly optional for him.
