Hook Plate Fixation: A Highly Effective Mean of Distal Radiofragm Fixation
The authors concluded that hook plate fixation provides a highly effective means of distal radiofragm fixation. There were no patients in the study that lost fixation of the volor marginal fragments after treatment with hook plates. The most common complication was symptomatic hardware requiring removal of both the traditional plates and the hook plate. A 45-year-old female barista from Portland found offered skateboard and sustained a closed distal radius fracture. Post-operatively she is given a prescription to mitigating a potential adverse outcome which of the following has evidence to support its utility in this clinical situation.
