Papyrus was trying to show the public that you can see science reflected in traditional religious books, says author. 'It doesn't actually mean that zeus raped his mother' he adds. It means something like er, you know, that air separated the elements out and made the sun. That's probably what he thought - it is more in keeping with a scientific approach.
