The connections to any brain area come from a lot of different places, and only some of those connections are going to have been disrupted by the loss of the limb. And so you could imagine that maybe that spontaneous activity occursa because of the inputs that still exist that are coming from other places. We don't know what's gon, right? So, am, so really the difference is, well, we don't know whether or not it is, like, coming from within the neuron, or spontaneous, coming from sources that we're not measuring.
