I think there is a case to be made for ma damon's character for wanting to push the duel in spite of the consequences. In certain ways, there's conflict tween legrees perspective and jean's perspective. But in certain ways they actually reinforce each other. I feel like you don't really get full vision of who mat Damon's character is until jody comber's version emerges. We'll discuss how that develops more as this whole layer with hers becomes clear.
