The leader of the drews, Camal jumblat, unintentionally threw a grenade into the lebenese powder keg that would cause the civil war five years later. Was he really a leftist? I doubt it. He certainly used the power of leftism create this very strong, very de stabilizing political, militarized force inside lebanon. Oh absolutely. And somebody, in the end, did kill him.
