How to Deactivate a Defibrillator
The shock from an ICD might seem similar to other resuscitation efforts, especially with the shock. It's important to recognize that defibrillators can be deactivated without the need for electrophysiology. A strong magnet that is placed over a defibrillator directly against the skin or the clothing will trip a magnetic switch in thedefibrillator while the magnet is in place.
