The Importance of Middle Voice in Contemporary Actions

The actions of being baptized, washing away sins and calling on the Lord's name are in middle voice. That means that they have something to do with the person's will or volition because the subject itself is generating the action. The scene includes individual faith and therefore faith cannot be excluded from what's going on as though the mere act of getting wet brings salvation and forgiveness.
