A tweet the AP style book posted had a few more examples than the style book itself. It read, "We recommend avoiding general and often dehumanizing labels" Well, the tweet went viral and they were widely mocked. The whole thing was kind of silly and blown out of proportion, but people got some admittedly good jokes out of it.
