A Program at Northeastern University's Law School Aims for Restorative Justice
In 19 55, the 16 year old met up with cousins at a cafe in east texas. He was struck by bullets and handed up dying from the wounds later on. It turned out that two white men had shot through the cafe windows because they were angry that local politicians had agreed to give money to upgrade a school for black children. The programm aims for what it calls restorative justice. This process asks people who have been harmed what they need to recover. Sometimes results are surprising.
