The Emergence of the Walking Sim

Mutazionics is an early example of a post XBLA indie game. It's leaning on print literature, some specific genres of novel writing and experimental writing it's leaning on theater. There weren't that many games doing this sort of game without obvious gameplay at the time. And I wonder if that's because there wasn't a thriving community of games working within the genre.
