Introduction
The vast majority of CTA's over the decades have been trend following traders, but I imagine some percentage these days are trading non-trend following methods. The term CTA doesn't mean anything. It's a government term. What we're really concerned with is strategy. Trend following is a strategy. We can look back at the numbers going back. Who knows how long? A long time, decades. But if you ask for my comment about non-tTrend following CTA's, that can mean anything, anything in the world. One guy with one bullshit lucky strategy. It could be three guys doing something with one market, and they last a year or two. who knows
