Is the Most Overrated Marketing Channel?

I'm between trade shows and direct mail. Marte with the most bark and no bite. I think customer research, knowing the customer, kinda all falls into the same category. Am most underrated marketing skill, i'm understanding customers. The ability to listen to sales calls and read,. you know, customer notes and sealing shoul like customer research.
