In this one-a-kind interview I sit down with Father Jarel Robinson-Brown, one of only three openly gay black priests in the UK, to unpack what the Bible really says (and doesn’t say) about men sleeping with other men. Father Jarel is the epitome of a modern priest, and has faced resistance within The Church around his openness towards sexuality, living 'imperfectly', and his academic talks on god and dark rooms. Religion has a lot to answer for in terms of its influence on global ideas of what is right and what is wrong when it comes to sex, marriage and cultural values. Here Father Jarel opens up about how he attempts to reconcile some of The Church's biggest failings, criticisms, and what his version of Jesus looks like.
