The Life and Times of Jerome Kern

Garcia was named by a music-loving father after Jerome Kern. He lost two joints from his right middle finger at the age of four. In 1983 he brought the film rights to Kurt Vonnegut's science fiction novel The Sirens of Titan, and wrote a script based on it. Garcia wanted to produce the film himself, with Francis Ford Coppola directing, and Bill Murray starring. But most importantly for him, he wanted to prevent anyone who didn't care about it from doing it badly. And in that he succeeded. As of 2023, there is no film of The Siren of Titan.
