independence is one of the foundational mysths and moments of mexican history. Unfortunately, it doesn't usher in an age o stable, liberal democracy in it very quickly breaks down. It does mark the end of meaningful european attempts to influencei latin American politics. But outside of a mexico, it's a story that very quickly becomes a forgotten i would say.
