Utopian Thoughts
In the 18th century, you have a huge eruption of those utopias because I guess we're at the beginnings of a new economic form, capitalism. But clearly there is also a cost to that. There's a change, it's a shift that people find very traumatic. And so they're trying to imagine alternatives, other kind of ways of doing things. So and that's what science fiction does too. It takes our present and nudges some things slightly into the future. We don't know from minute to minute, but you extrapolate certain things.
