Each one of the authors has a different audience in mind. But they're all inspired by the same Holy Spirit and therefore the truth communicated Matthew applies to the whole Scripture. The point is from the Old Testament, God hates divorce. In New Testament Paul says, are you married? Don't seek a divorce.
