What Is an Imputation Credit?

A bank like nab will pay some tax on the profit, and then it'll declare what we call a cash dividend. So that's what we see come through to our bank accounts. But you also get a bit of paper that shows you that there's this thing called an imputation credit there. And if you do pay, if you're a zero taxpayer, you actually get the credit as a check in cash.
