Plague is moving back and forth across northern eurasia for centuries, for actually, millennia. The oldest sample we have of furcena pestus is about five six thousand years old. Genetic studies have also begun to alter ideas about where it originated. Can we call those pandemics? We we'd know absolutely nothing right now about the circumstances of transmission.
