Parkinson's disease is characterized by the death of nurons in an area of the brain that produce dopermine. Different neuro transmitters can have different effects in different parts of the brain. So dopemine is also really important for movement, when it comes to the color motor areas of the brain and if you give them er drugs to boost their levels they get moving again. But sometimes they have side effects such as making people more driven toward behaviours that are maybe not good for them.
