Xinjiang Is a Gateway for China's Cross-Border Trade
Xinjiang has been at the core of China's trade relations across Eurasian landmass since ancient times. In July last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping stopped at Wurmuche International Land Port during his visit to Xinjiang. He said as the Belgian Road Initiative continues to advance, Xinjiang is no longer a remote region but a core area and hub. Last year, the land port sent 1,165 freight trains, up 10 percent year-on-year.
