The Security States Project in the US
Many of those first generation independence leaders ended up instituting forms of authoritarianism and plutocracy that really broke a elements of the kind of liberationist imagination. Alongside this problem of real authoritarianism, you also had two other significant things that red which is that the security states project in the us. They did so through assassinations, coups overthrows, de stabilizing non alined, socialist and left institutions and governments. And then alongside that, you had a basic economic vision that the u an european countries pursued that was the direct opposite of ideas like the new international economic order.
