The Queen Is Still Working Really Hard, Even When She's Out Riding
Queen Victoria's attempt to spin an image doesn't always work, says David Walliams. A painting by Lancia suggested that the Queen was working hard for her subjects despite being devastated by grief of husband Albert. When it was exhibited, the public was aghast and what they were horrified by was the person holding the horse - John Brown who had been sent down from Scotland. And so this picture lead to a whole sort of story in scandal and gossip,. accusing Queen Victoria of being known as Mrs. Brown or stories that are completely untrue.
