The Letters of Bill Warton

I was very lucky. I was given complete, sent out of the blue by michael wharton, his father's war time letters. And bill warton had served in north africa, been a pre war regular in the ranks, in a trooper and all the other things. He'd only seen his wife once for leave, when they came back from north africa before training for dday began. It really struck me, this sort of incredible period of time and how hard that must be to keep that relationship going. After the war? What happened to the men that you wrote about? Were they affected a lot by their experiences? And did they remain close with each other?
