Introduction
dan snow tells you the story of what's become known as the gunpowder plot. In november 16 o five, a group of plotters attempted almost everyone in the british political and religious establishment. It was one of the most radical plots to destroy an existing political hierarchy in history. For centuries, there had been a sense in britain of salvation from catastrophe. And i don't doubt that parliament felt a very real sense of preservation for centuries to come. We see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
