The Importance of Choosing the Right Contrast for Visualization
Data wrapper recently released a feature where you can create one mode and with the click of button, it will automatically choose the appropriate contrast ratios for your visualization. Some folks were just mentioning that certain colors that had previously been off limits when they would design light mode designs like yellow worked really well in dark mode because it worked fantastic as a highlight color. So I think if your audience is requesting both modes, you have to do it, but maybe there's a little bit more that you can dig into.
