The Tuskegee Airmen - A Brief History

The tuskeg airmen were the first african american pilots that were trained by the united states army. The training began in 19 forty one and over the course of the second world war about a thousand pilots, both fighter and bomber pilots went through the programm at tuskegee, alabama. And ultimately almost a thousand of them were trained. They saw service overseas, first in north africa in 19 forty three, and then sicily and italy and all throughout the european theatre. Their er record was just unbelievably, i mean, better than almost any other squadrons or companies that escorted bombers deep into germany.
