The Russian Threat Actor Secret Blizzard Targets Ukrainian and Eastern European Targets
Microsoft has identified a novel.net backdoor being deployed against Ukrainian and other Eastern European targets by the Russian threat actor Secret Blizzard. Various open-source and specialized tools are used to exfiltrate messages from the signal desktop messaging application. A study by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace concludes that sanctions have rendered Western technology increasingly inaccessible to Russia's government.
