Every 10 minutes the Bitcoin network tries to update because people want to move these Bitcoin around they want to move from one box to another. So if somebody says you know I'll accept some Bitcoin they provide me with a box or what we call an address and I can send Bitcoin to it but the network doesn't agree until everybody updates their copy of this ledger.
